WHAT IS THE MONKEY MIND

Hey there, folks! It’s your pal and PT4theMIND Michael Bennett, the self-proclaimed master of monkey mind and the guy who can’t help but crack jokes wherever he goes. Today, we’re going to take a wild and hilarious journey into the wacky world of the monkey mind.

So, what is this monkey mind I’m jabbering about? Well, imagine a bunch of monkeys partying it up in your brain, swinging from thought to thought without a care in the world. Yeah, that’s the monkey mind! It’s that pesky voice in your head that just won’t shut up, constantly jumping around, distracting you from focusing on anything.

Now, let me give you a play-by-play of what goes on in my own monkey mind. Picture this: I’m sitting down at my desk, ready to write the most brilliant and side-splitting blog post of all time. But just as I’m about to start, one monkey shouts, “Hey, remember that hilarious video you watched on YouTube yesterday?” And boom! Before I know it, I’m knee-deep scrolling through cat videos instead of writing.

But it doesn’t stop there, folks. Another monkey jumps in, asking, “Hey, what’s for dinner tonight?” And then, my mind starts running down a never-ending grocery list of absurd ingredients that would make even the most skilled chef raise an eyebrow. I mean, who needs anchovies, a pineapple, and some sort of turnip to make a BLT sandwich, right?

And let’s not forget about the monkey who’s always playing a broken record of embarrassing moments from my past. Thanks, monkey! I really needed to be reminded of that time I tripped over my own feet in front of my crush. It certainly wasn’t enough to make me cringe at 3 a.m. while lying in bed. Nope, I needed you to bring it up again right when I sat down to write.

But you know what, my fellow humans with monkey minds? We’re not alone! We’re all in this together, battling these chaotic simian brainwaves that seem to have a mind of their own. The trick, my friends, is to embrace and tame these monkeys, or better yet, turn them into a stand-up comedy act.

Instead of getting frustrated when your monkey mind takes over, use it as fuel for your creativity. Let those crazy thoughts and distracting ideas become the punchlines of your jokes. Take a step back, observe the chaos unfolding in your mind, and find the humor in it all.

After all, laughter is the best remedy for those monkey-mind moments that drive us bonkers. So, the next time you find yourself caught in a whirlwind of thoughts, remember: you’re not alone. We’re all just a bunch of humans trying to wrangle those wild monkeys in our minds and turn them into hilarious anecdotes.

I will be sharing with you cool peeps in future blogs from my published book ‘BECOME A MIND NINJA’, how I broke the monkey mind down into 7 monkeys that I feel have a major impact on our thoughts and daily feelings. These monkeys are Gratitude, Fear, Anger, Grief, Critic, Victom, and Jealous, and I will be sharing how I overcame their constant chatter with some cool tips and strategies that you yourself can implement in your daily life.

Well, folks, that’s all from me today. I hope this little journey into the world of the monkey mind brought a smile to your face and a chuckle to your soul. Now, go out there and write your hearts out, monkey mind and all! Until next time, keep laughing and keep writing!

Walk in Peace with Loving Awareness, Michael
